China is a big and powerful country in chemical fiber industry. Chemical fiber accounts for 84% of China's textile fiber processing capacity. In addition to clothing and home textile, chemical fiber also has a large number of applications in aerospace, national defense and military industry, energy, transportation, civil engineering, marine engineering, medical and health, and occupies an important position in China's national economic and social development. Therefore, the high-quality development of the chemical fiber industry during the "14th five year plan" period requires the joint efforts of the market and the government to play the role of macro-control.

During the "14th five year plan" period, the chemical fiber industry should vigorously promote the new technology of energy conservation and emission reduction, actively promote the circular economy, especially the recycling of waste textiles, break through the relevant key technologies, and study and establish the regulations, policies and standards system for the recycling of waste textiles.
