International Market: Garment Export Fujian

From the Fuzhou customs, Fujian textile and apparel exports reached US $2 billion 250 million in the first half of March this year, an increase of 26.6% over the same period last year.

According to the introduction, the European Union, ASEAN and the United States are the main export markets for Fujian's textiles and garments, including textile yarns, fabrics and products, clothing and accessories.

In the first quarter of this year, Fujian's textile and apparel exports to the European Union, ASEAN and the United States were 670 million US dollars, 250 million US dollars and 200 million US dollars respectively, representing an increase of 49.8%, 57.5% and 45.1% respectively. The total exports to the above account for 49.5% of the total value of Fujian's textile and garment exports in the same period.

Fuzhou customs officials analyzed that Fujian textile and garment exports grew well in the first quarter, mainly due to the recovery of the international market, the establishment of the ASEAN trade area and the gradual emergence of the state's support policies for the textile industry.

"However, due to the instability of the international market, there are still some constraints on the export of textile and clothing."

The source pointed out that at present, crude oil, cotton, chemical fiber and other raw materials international market prices continue to rise, coal and electricity resources, labor, land and other domestic costs have also increased the production costs of garment enterprises, enterprises are facing a more severe test of production and operation; moreover, from the feedback of many enterprises, the first quarter of this year's orders are significantly more than last year, but export orders profit is generally low, some enterprises exist in order to retain customers have to maintain capital loss or even at a loss.

Fuzhou customs recommends that the relevant departments should guide clothing enterprises to tap potential through their own interior, improve production processes and production processes, increase labor productivity and reduce production costs, and pay close attention to the latest development trend of textile and clothing, and take timely measures to promote the upgrading of industrial structure.
