Xu Wenying, President of the Third Council, said on the 13 th that in the past 5 years, despite the global financial crisis, the government insisted on expanding domestic demand and stabilizing exports because of the timely regulation by the government.

And the export volume has increased substantially, and the competitiveness of China's cotton textile industry in the international market has been further enhanced.


On September 12th -13, the fourth member congress of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association and the 2010 China Cotton Textile Forum were held in Shihezi, Xinjiang, known as "the Pearl of the Great Wall".

Xu Wenying said that the export of Chinese cotton textiles and cotton garments increased from US $31 billion 200 million in 2004 to US $62 billion 600 million in 2009, with an average annual growth of 20%. Cotton yarn imports averaged 950 thousand tons per year, and annual cotton imports ranged from 1 million 530 thousand tons to 3 million 640 thousand tons.


The total labor productivity and profits tax in China's cotton textile industry increased significantly.

Sales of products from enterprises above designated size increased from 355 billion 480 million yuan in 2004 to 969 billion 880 million yuan in 2009, with an average annual growth of 34.6%.

The output of yarn increased from 10 million 950 thousand tons in 2004 to 2009 tons in 23 million 950 thousand, an average annual increase of 23.7%. The output of grey cloth in Enterprises above designated size increased from 29 billion 500 million meters in 2004 to 56 billion 700 million meters in 2009, with an average annual growth rate of 18.4, and the production and sales rate remained above 97%.


The structure of cotton textile products has been greatly improved. The proportion of non woven products, the proportion of no yarn, the proportion of no woven cloth, and the proportion of combed yarn have been significantly improved.

The situation of single product variety has been fundamentally improved. Various raw materials are blended and interwoven with different yarns. Various organizational changes and jacquard fabrics of various sizes are constantly emerging.


Xu Wenying said that the investment in fixed assets of cotton spinning industry was quickening, and the level of technology and equipment was constantly improving.

The national ring spinning frame has reached 110 million spindles, and all kinds of compact spinning have reached 5 million spindles, an increase of 25% over the same period last year. The proportion of blowing carding unit, automatic winding machine, shuttleless loom and comber has increased by a different margin.
