Q: the sixth Dongguan cup

In the three months since the competition started in June 9th to September 18th, 2420 pieces of works were collected, including 693 public information and electronic works, 1262 home works, 180 toy works and 189 LED technology applications. The enterprise group has collected 96 entries from Dongguan enterprises, and the total number of entries has been the highest in the past years.

Q: in what form are these awards chosen?

Yang Xiangdong: in order to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the competition, we invited many well-known experts in the field of industrial design at home and abroad to carry out three rounds of assessment, including initial assessment, reappraisal and final assessment.

Among them, the author of the finalists will participate in the final reply in Dongguan in November 2nd. He will introduce the characteristics of the works to the expert judges in the form of model presentation, presentation and reply, and accept on-site inquiries, competing for the gold medal, gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal.

Q: to promote the docking of industrial design and manufacturing industry and upgrade the level of industrialization and marketization is the key to realize the pformation from "manufacturing in Dongguan" to "creating in Dongguan".

How does this contest highlight this?

Yang Xiangdong: this year's competition is striving for innovation. It is closely linked with the design theme of "innovation, docking and industrialization". It has set up 200 thousand yuan's "extreme Gold Award" and other awards to encourage and promote Dongguan enterprises to accelerate the pace of independent innovation.

In the various links of the launching, implementation and evaluation of the competition, emphasis is placed on the depth of conceptual design, emphasizing the close combination of design value, social value and commercial value, encouraging the docking of design institutions, designers and manufacturing enterprises and hatching the final results, and striving to make the competition form four platforms: a service platform that promotes the industrialization of innovative achievements and innovation incubating; a docking platform providing project resources and project cooperation; a professional platform showing creative talent and improving the vision of design; and a communication platform with zero contact with the masters of the designers.

Q: as one of the organizers of the competition, how can Guangdong Southern China industrial design institute play its own advantages and serve the enterprises in Dongguan and surrounding areas, helping upgrade and pform the industry?

Yang Xiangdong: Southern China Institute of industrial design is an innovation platform of industry, academia and research jointly built by the Dongguan municipal government and Guangdong University of Technology. We make full use of our own innovative resources and 4 integrated service platforms: design, communication, information and technology. We play the role of industry university research cooperation and design innovation, and provide a comprehensive innovation and incubation service for Dongguan and even the PRD enterprises. By providing product design and development for enterprises, we can help enterprises improve their added value and enhance their brand influence and popularity.

At present, we have established business ties with more than 1500 enterprises, and have provided a large number of excellent programs for enterprises in Dongguan and other places, covering consumer electronics, electromechanical equipment, medical equipment, household appliances, computer communications, pportation and other fields. Most of the design achievements have been industrialized, helping enterprises achieve more than 500 million yuan economic benefits.

Q: what is the outstanding feature of the development trend of industrial design in Dongguan?

Yang Xiangdong: in recent years, Dongguan's industrial design has developed rapidly.

Through the promulgation of the implementation measures of Dongguan to promote industrial design, the establishment of Industrial Design Association, the holding of industrial design competition and the creation of various exchange platforms, the industrial design industry in Dongguan has taken the enterprise and design company as the main body, and various public service systems, industrial parks and industrial parks guided by the government as the platform, and the industrial layout of associations at all levels as the bridge.

The creative industry circle, mainly composed of Songshan Lake and Guancheng, has been formed. The textile and clothing design and production areas mainly located in Humen and Dalang, with the furniture and product design and production areas mainly based on Houjie and Daling mountain, and the design and production areas of hardware and mould products mainly based on Changan and Hengli, and the toy industrial design and production areas mainly based on Dongcheng, Chai Shan and Shi Pai.

Looking forward to the future, Dongguan also needs to strengthen and upgrade government policy protection, enterprise innovation awareness and design personnel training, and strive to provide stronger impetus for "Dongguan manufacturing" towards Dongguan creation.
