Exporters Of Garments In India

The India apparel exporters association appealed to the government to stop the export of cotton and cotton yarn immediately.

Cotton price

The abnormal rise led to a sharp rise in cotton yarn prices.

In addition, price fluctuations and fabric supply have become serious problems.

Weaving enterprise

Unable to perform.

In a letter to Federal Minister of textiles, marang and Federal Minister of Commerce and industry, Rakesh Vaid, President of the India clothing exporters association, asked two ministers to pay attention to the downward trend of clothing exports.

He pointed out that the latest foreign trade data show that clothing exports in April 2010 -9 have dropped by 6%, and during this period, the total export volume of the country increased by 21%.

Although the government has taken some positive measures earlier to moderate the price of cotton yarn, the price of cotton yarn in the domestic market has not dropped.

So far, these measures seem to have not yet achieved the desired results, and yarn and fabric prices continue to rise, causing export enterprises to get into financial difficulties.

The government subsidized cotton prices to protect the interests of farmers, while ensuring that middlemen and speculators did not make use of the world's shortage of cotton.

Recent exports of raw cotton and cotton yarns to rival countries such as China, Bangladesh and Pakistan have already damaged India's clothing exports.

Mr. Vaid further pointed out that the price of cotton yarn has reached a record high.

The sharp rise in prices has already affected the competitiveness of India's exports and the performance of India's clothing industry.

Therefore, he asked the government to suspend the export of cotton yarn immediately to ensure clothing.

Export enterprises

Provide reasonable price of cotton yarn supply, and can not be interrupted.

Mr. Vaid also stressed that India must export value-added clothing instead of raw cotton, yarn or fabric.

Because, according to the same amount of cotton yarn used by garment export enterprises, the value of value-added clothing exports is more than 6 times the same amount of cotton yarn.

He said the government must take immediate steps to solve the serious crisis that the textile industry can not buy cotton, yarn and fabrics even if prices are raised.
