Big Wave Cup Dress Design Competition

Taking "metamorphosis East" as the design theme, jointly organized by the Shenzhen science and technology industry, trade and Information Committee, Shenzhen Baoan District people's government and China Textile publishing house, the 2011 "big wave Cup" women's costume design competition, which was hosted by China fashion magazine, Shenzhen garment industry association and Shenzhen big wave garment industrial gathering base, was held in Beijing in May 18th.

The 21 entries stand out from nearly 1000 entries.



Extensive promotion and promotion



From the date of the start of March 28, 2011 to the deadline of May 10th, 40 days, the organizing committee has received nearly 1000 professional and domestic design contributions.

The participants were from 26 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and the Special Administrative Region. The youngest participants were 16 and 51 years old.

A total of 109 units took part in the design competition. Among them, there were 86 textile and garment colleges and universities nationwide, covering all the well-known clothing design institutes in China. In addition, 21 professional design studios, 21 garment companies and 11 free designers participated in the competition.

These include Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, Donghua University, the school of art and other famous domestic clothing institutions and Wang Peina, Zeng Feng Fei and other well-known designer studio designers.

Some professional designers who have worked overseas have entered the competition, such as designers who worked in GUCCI and VERSACE.



Since the opening of the competition, many news media have publicised the events, especially the fast spreading and efficient network media.

According to incomplete statistics, more than 30 relevant professional network media have reproduced the solicitation notice of the competition. Among them, the most prominent one is the needle thread net. After a week of posting, the number of downloaded entries has exceeded 700. After that, the staff often receive the telephone consultation competition of the contestants.



While the media publicized the "big wave Cup", with the help of the close cooperation channels with the textile and clothing institutions and the relevant leaders and teachers in the institutions, the Organizing Committee of the competition sent the posters of the big wave cup to the more than 50 colleges, and posted and publicized them in time.

In mid April, the organizers sent special personnel to Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, Beijing University of Technology art school, Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, Lai normal college, and Shanghai Engineering University of science and technology. At the same time, they organized to go to Quanzhou, Hunan, Changsha and other places in Fujian to carry out promotional publicity and advisory services for the design competition.

Some colleges have also organized thematic consultation for the competition, which is explained by professional teachers.



While soliciting contributions from professional colleges, the Organizing Committee of the competition has passed the information of the contest to some well-known design studios in China to collect the entries of the competition. Some young designers who have worked in well-known brands abroad have also entered the competition. For example, designers who worked in GUCCI and VERSACE participated in the competition.



Promoting the concept of deep competition



Following the end of the big wave Cup news campaign, the Chinese clothing magazine, one of the organizers, has organized extensive in-depth interviews with relevant local associations leaders to expand the excavation of the industry significance of the big wave cup dress design competition, with a view to establishing the special position and innovative idea of the big wave cup women's dress design competition in the industry, as well as the publicity of the big wave industrial base.

The publicity of the big wave cup is complementary to the propaganda of the big wave base, which has also promoted the whole industry of Shenzhen women's wear.



It is gratifying to note that through the vigorous propaganda of our spreading net, the design concept of "pforming East" has aroused resonance among design enthusiasts, and they have shown great enthusiasm for design.

The works generally express the rich understanding and interpretation of the theme of "metamorphosis East", and the individual expression of the pformation of eastern culture, so that the entries have rich and diversified perspectives.



The entries reflect a high level.



In May 18th, the preliminary evaluation of the competition was completed in Beijing.

Xiao Wenling, vice professor of the Department of dyeing and weaving art of Academy of Fine Arts, Xiao Wenling, deputy director of the Department of clothing art and engineering of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, and vice president of the Department of fashion art and design of the Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, as well as Xie Yiwen, vice president of the Beijing ESMOD high fashion school, made a strict and careful selection of the competition.

In order to reflect the fairness, impartiality and openness of the competition, all works are adopted in the form of "blind assessment".

Finally, the 21 groups of finalists will stand out. They will compete in the finals of Shenzhen in July 9th, competing for the champions, the second and third teams.



The judges gave a high appraisal of the entries of this competition.

Xiao Wenling interviewed more than 40 pieces of good works, so that three judges conducted three rounds of evaluation before they finally established 21 finalists.

Although the theme of this competition should be combined with Chinese elements, it does not blindly follow the tradition. Instead, it interprets the Chinese impression in their eyes from the perspective of young people and modern people.

For example, some players choose the way of Mashup, and the shapes, fabrics and colors are all fashionable, but they can read the wisdom of China.

Guo Ruiping believes that the participants of this competition are very extensive. There are college students, design studios, in-service personnel and overseas designers. This makes the styles of the works different. Such a final is highly visible and the stage effect will be wonderful.

Xie Yiwen interpreted the entries from the perspective of design. She thought that the 20 entries were closely integrated with the current fashion trend, and the proportion of black and white was less and less, and the bright colors gradually increased.

In the selection process, the overall coordination and the grasp of the theme are the key to the judges.



In order to more effectively boost the development of China's women's clothing industry, the competition has discovered and excavated Chinese original women's costume design talents, showing the strength of original Chinese design. Meanwhile, the organizers combined with the clothing talent net to recommend the outstanding athletes to Shenzhen or other domestic women's wear brands for employment.

At that time, the clothing talent network will launch the first edition of the first edition of the "big wave Cup" women's costume design competition recommended by the talent network. It will recommend the outstanding athletes who have employment or internship requirements to the famous women's clothing brand in Shenzhen or other well-known domestic women's clothing brands, and organize the Shenzhen or other well-known women's clothing brands that have the need of recruitment for the first time to give priority to the elite players.

While showing their strength and design concept, players can get the opportunity to work in well-known women's clothing enterprises.
