EU Label Regulation

Recently, through the new regulations on textile labeling, the EU has revised the names of textile fibers.

Label

The current regulations for marking and identifying textile fiber components are aimed at regulating the fiber specification and textile label system of textile and apparel products in the EU market.

The new regulation of the EU has been adapted to "the weight percentage of textile fibers or textile parts up to 80% of the relevant products". The new regulation clearly stipulates that when manufacturers and importers put textiles into the EU market, it is the responsibility to ensure that the labels or labels on the products are accurate and accurate. The names of all the fibers used in the products must be listed on labels or labels according to the weight percentage; the single fiber that accounts for less than 5% of the total weight of the textile, or the total fiber that weighs less than 15% of the total weight of the textile, can be classified as "

Other fibers

"

The regulations will also force suppliers to label non-woven parts of animals, such as fur and leather, on labels.

The new regulations replace 3 existing EU directives, namely, 73/44/EEC, 96/73/EC and 2008/121/EC, which will take effect after the publication of the EU official gazette.

In the inspection and supervision of European Union products, the inspection and quarantine officers of Changzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau found that the problems existed in textile and clothing labels were as follows: fiber component identification did not meet the requirements, such as fiber content did not match, fiber label names were not in conformity with the actual products, indicating that fiber components were not in conformity with the contract, washing labels were not up to the requirements, some products requiring washing signs were not labeled washing requirements or incorrect marking, violated the domestic and foreign trademark usage regulations, and used foreign well-known trademarks for production and operation without any authorization.

To this end, Changzhou Bureau reminds textile and garment export enterprises: first, we should attach great importance to the new regulations of the EU textile labels, and actively learn the mandatory requirements of the new regulations, so as to correctly label the labels of the textiles so as to ensure that the products meet the EU requirements. Two, we must strengthen the examination of the labels provided by the customers, prevent the guest labels from being inconsistent with the requirements of the importing countries of the European Union, and thus bring unnecessary losses; three, we must recognize that labels are also an important part of the quality of the products.

Integrity and self-discipline

For uncertain ingredients, labels should be sent to relevant authorities in time.

Testing

To avoid the notification, return or confiscation of imported European textiles because of non-standard labels.
