In his speech, Shi Baoquan, deputy director of the national standard committee, made a request to the Secretariat's undertaking unit, the China leather and footwear industry research institute: to do well the work of the International Secretariat, abide by the principle of "consensus, pparency, openness and fairness", and strive to create a new situation in ISO/TC137 work, and make more contributions to the international standardization activities in this field.

Foreign exchange earnings from China's footwear products also grew steadily year by year. In 2010, China's footwear exports increased by 9 billion 930 million and 33 billion 660 million US dollars, up 21.5% and 26.6% respectively from the same period last year, and the average export price was 3.39 US dollars, up 4.2% over the same period last year.
