A Man Was Sentenced For Buying 260000 Fake Shoes For Wholesale

Putian man Chen bought counterfeit brand-name sports shoes worth more than 260000 yuan. He hid these shoes in a residential area of Fuzhou and his exclusive store. After selling only part of them, they were seized by the industrial and Commercial Department of our city. A few days ago, the Taijiang District Court sentenced Chen to three years' imprisonment and a fine of 100000 yuan for selling goods with counterfeit registered trademarks. The 24-year-old Mr. Chen runs a sports shoes store in Fuzhou shoes city. From the end of 2004 to April 2005, he purchased a lot of fake "Nike" and "Adidas" sneakers from a Jinjiang businessman surnamed Lin at prices ranging from 30 yuan to 50 yuan per pair.
