Sears plans to spin off Lands' End clothing business

On the evening of December 6, Beijing time U.S.A Retail giant Sears Holdings (SHLD) announced on Friday that it plans to split its Lands' End clothing direct sales business into an independent company.

The company said that it planned to distribute all shares of Lands' End to existing shareholders in a tax exempt manner in proportion, but the split still needed to be approved by the Board of Directors.

In order to reverse the performance of its large retail chain, Sears has been selling assets and splitting business. Prior to this, the company has split some businesses, including Hometown and Outlet Stores, which mainly sell household appliances, hardware, tools, lawn and gardening equipment, and Orchard Supply Hardware, a California hardware chain, to raise cash. Since 2010, the company has closed more than 300 stores.

In October this year, Sears said that it was considering separating the businesses of Lands' End and Sears Auto Center, but the company did not mention Sears Auto Center in its statement on Friday.

Lands'End is one of the world's largest clothing distributors. It was founded in 1963 and acquired by Sears for 1.9 billion dollars in 2002.

Moscow investigates an underground clothing factory and finds 25000 illegal immigrants

according to Russia The website of the Communist Youth League Pravda reported on December 5 that 25000 illegal immigrants were working in the underground clothing factory outside Moscow.

The police found that Ivanjefk, a Moscow suburb, ran an underground clothing factory. The illegal clothing factory is located in an abandoned textile factory. The police explained that these immigrants from Southeast Asia produced clothes here, including children's clothes, which seriously violated the relevant provisions of Russia to protect the lives and health of consumers. There are more than 25000 illegal immigrants working in this underground "company".

During the operation, the police seized about 2000 sewing equipment and more than 70 tons of fake and shoddy clothes in the factory, all of which were affixed with the trademarks of well-known garment enterprises.

This is not the first raid on illegal immigrants in Moscow. On November 15, the police department conducted a routine inspection of the shopping center "Moscow" in Lublin Street, and finally more than 700 people were detained - all illegal immigrants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Oeko Tex launches new environmental protection product label

At the beginning of November Switzerland At the Oeko Tex General Manager Meeting held in Lucerne, there were many initiatives to promote the new product label of sustainable textiles.

The purpose of the new Oeko Tex product label is to help brands and retailers communicate to consumers that the product has used sustainable production conditions in the production chain.

This new stamp will replace the Oeko Tex 100 plus standard and will be launched to the market in the summer of 2014. This stamp will confirm that the product does not contain harmful substances and is produced in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.

Another development is the plan to launch a new tool called "MySTeP", so that retailers can list "STeP certified" production plants from their clothing supply chain.

This "STeP certification system" has been launched this year to assess the environmental protection and social responsibility of production facilities.

So far, five European textile enterprises have obtained the "STeP Certification" stamp, Hermann B ü hler, Mattes&Ammann, Weberei Appenzell, Otto and Pascual y Bernabeu.
