Jiangnan University is directly under the Ministry of education, the national "211 Project" key construction university and "double first-class" construction university. Zhu Qingbao, Secretary of the Party committee of Jiangnan University, said in his speech that Jiangnan University is one of the first batch of universities to establish textile discipline in China. It has built a whole industry chain discipline cluster integrating textile engineering, light chemical engineering, fashion design and engineering, and has formed certain characteristic advantages in advanced spinning and weaving technology, knitting technology and ecological dyeing and finishing technology. He expressed his gratitude to the China Textile Engineering Society for handing over the annual meeting to Jiangnan University, which provided Jiangnan University with an opportunity to learn from peers from the whole country. There is a long way to go for the development of textile industry's basic research and technological innovation and other technical capabilities. The conference announced that Wang Rui, Professor of Beijing Institute of fashion technology, was awarded the 2020 textile academic award; 5 professors of Xi'an University of technology, including Li Pengfei, were awarded the title of 2020 textile academic leader; Chen Baishun, senior engineer of toread Holding Group Co., Ltd., was awarded the title of 2020 textile technology leader; 3 people, including Ma Pibo, Professor of Jiangnan University, were awarded the "Shaoxing Feiya" 2020 textile Youth Science and technology award; 15 papers including "preparation and properties of biomimetic calcium alginate microfibers with ultra-high strain sensitivity and atypical spiral spring structure by microfluidic conditioning and their properties" were awarded the 21st Chen Weiji Excellent Thesis Award; and 16 papers such as "preparation and performance of palm multi-scale fiber materials" were awarded Excellent Doctoral and master's thesis awards in textile industry. Professor Cheng Bowen of Tianjin University of technology and Wang Huaping of Donghua University, recommended by China Textile Engineering Society, have won the National Innovation Award. A grand award ceremony was held for them at the meeting.

Sun Ruizhe stressed that under the new historical coordinate system and the new pattern of "double circulation", the industry should have a new orientation in the new period. Textile industry is the pillar industry of national economy and social development, the basic industry to solve people's livelihood and beautify life, and the advantage industry of international cooperation and integration development. At present and for some time to come is a critical period for the international cooperation and integrated development of the industry.
