According to Li Wendong, chairman of CIAA, four major changes have taken place in the antibacterial industry after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic. One is the awakening of antibacterial awareness. Through the education of epidemic situation, people's biological literacy has been gradually established, and health products which are helpful for the prevention and control of microbial risk have gradually begun to be favored by consumers, and the consumption of antibacterial products has become a hot trend. The second is the rapid development of the industry. From the upstream point of view, most of the antibacterial agents enterprises are in short supply to varying degrees. From the perspective of testing, all antibacterial testing laboratories also have queuing up for testing. The third is the emergence of new market applications, such as automobile, bathroom, masks and protective clothing and other protective products, as well as hand sanitizer and wipes and other daily chemical products become new market hot spots. According to Mr. Li Wendong, at present, China's antibacterial industry is facing three major challenges: regulations, market and epidemic situation. In response to this problem, Mr. Li Wendong pointed out in his opening speech that CIAA has been committed to solving these problems in the past two years. For example, CIAA has formulated and released nearly 30 group standards since 2018, and is committed to building an antibacterial standard system composed of basic standards, material standards and product standards, so as to better standardize the industrial development. In order to solve the problem that consumers don't know how to choose antibacterial products and how to trust antibacterial products, CIAA actively promotes the market application of antibacterial marks and recommends safe and effective antibacterial products to the society in the form of antibacterial marks. At the same time, in order to better enable China's antibacterial industry to go out and participate in the competition in the world market, the world antibacterial Industry Federation (wfai) jointly initiated by CIAA and Japan and Korea's antibacterial associations, was finally registered last year after eight years of hard work.

"The first-class enterprises are the standards, the second-class enterprises are the brands, and the third-class enterprises are the products". This is true for enterprises and the same is true for industries. Industrial development must be based on standards. Only in this way can products have laws to follow, markets can develop in a standardized way, and industries can grow healthily. At present, China has issued more than 100 antibacterial related standards, including national standards, industrial standards, local standards, etc., but because these standards are mostly material standards and product standards, and lack of basic standards for the whole industry, the market is largely in a state of disordered competition.

Therefore, in recent two years, CIAA has established the underlying logic of building China's antibacterial industry in a standard form. Ms. sun Tingli, deputy director of Guangdong microbial analysis and detection center, explained the plan of CIAA in 2021 CIAA group standard release session. According to her introduction, since the start of the group standards work in 2018, CIAA has formulated and issued more than 27 group standards, and more than 7 standards have been established and are being developed. At the meeting, CIAA issued the 27 group standards and issued the certificate to the participating units. Promote safe, healthy and effective products to the society in the form of antibacterial marks

Antibacterial products have antibacterial function, which can effectively inhibit the growth and reproduction of harmful microorganisms on the surface of articles, and control their quantity at a lower level, so as to maintain the ecological balance of microorganisms, reduce the risk of cross contamination, and provide a clean, hygienic and healthy comfortable living environment for the public. Based on this, CIAA developed a technical standard for the evaluation of the health and safety performance and antibacterial performance of the product, and developed an antibacterial mark based on the technical standard, so as to achieve the purpose of transmitting the invisible (quality) with the visible (pattern).

Mr. Zhang Yingzeng, Secretary General of CIAA, pointed out in the theme report of "antibacterial marks: Chinese standards, Chinese quality, China confidence", that antibacterial marks represent the highest technical requirements of the industry. In order to introduce safe and effective antibacterial products to the society, CIAA has established strict technical standards. First of all, there are requirements for the qualification of the enterprise. Secondly, there are strict technical requirements for the products. Thirdly, there are strict requirements for the labeling of antibacterial functions. On this basis, CIAA also formulated a series of regulations to ensure the quality of antibacterial products and the reputation of antibacterial marks. Therefore, once the product is approved to use the antibacterial mark, it means that the product has obtained the test report in the third-party antibacterial testing laboratory approved by CIAA and with CMA and CNAs qualification. Its health and safety performance and antibacterial performance meet the strict CIAA technical requirements, and the application unit has made a commitment to the product quality.
