The Winter Olympic Games are in full swing. Previously, the Organizing Committee of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games has openly recruited designers to participate in the opening ceremony, providing an excellent opportunity for Chinese independent fashion designers to show their talents. This fully shows that the Organizing Committee attaches great importance to original design and Chinese designers, and highly recognizes the increasing design strength of Chinese independent designers.

At last, several Chinese designers, Chen Peng, Wang FengChen and Ding Jie, designed all the costumes for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Chen Peng

Chen Peng, the pioneer designer of China, designed the costumes for five parts of the opening ceremony, including the pole lifter of spring, the future ice hockey team of the ice and snow rings, the 24 roller skaters of salute to the people, the peace dove children and the flag bearer.

At the opening ceremony, 24 roller skaters were very impressive. In the scene of snowflakes flying, the athletes line up in a row. By skillfully interspersed arrangement, they slide slowly through the center of the stage, push away layers of snowflakes, dance on the ice, and blend into the image of Chinese knot, telling the romantic Chinese story.

In the clothing design of roller skaters, Chen Peng adopts the color of Chinese red, which is eye-catching, enthusiastic and full of vigorous hope. At the same time, the white curve stripe figure evolved from Chinese knot is added to the clothing as ornament, which integrates the streamline sense of ice and snow sports, the track of athletes' performance and the image of Chinese knot, so as to combine the modern sense and traditional culture properly.

The second program, the five rings show, combines ice hockey performance with multimedia art. The strong hockey players chase on the ice at a high speed, forming a series of ice and snow festivals with a strong sense of future science and technology, benefiting from the theme of "high tech Olympics".

In order to realize the integrated transparent material texture, modeling and 3D printing technology are used in helmet, ice club and five ring logo, which visually realize the crystal clear texture similar to Chinese traditional ice lamp, and creatively combine ice hockey with Chinese ice sculpture culture.

Since the 1920 Olympic Games, "flying the dove of peace" has been the core part of each opening ceremony, which aims to express the dream and vision of mankind to build a peaceful and friendly world.

At the opening ceremony of this year's Beijing Winter Olympic Games, director Zhang Yimou proposed to use children's Freestyle Dance and children's chorus to build love and snowflake square. In the program, 550 pigeon cherubs and 160 children's chorus work together, and add artificial intelligence motion capture technology, showing a pure, pure and refreshing artistic image.

At the opening ceremony of this year's Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Chinese independent designer Wang FengChen and his team designed a complete set of costumes for six world-class award-winning athletes, Luo Zhihuan, Li Jiajun, Shen Xue, Han Xiaopeng, Zhang Hui and Zhang Hong.

The flag bearer's clothing is composed of three pieces, namely, artistic printed down jacket and Chinese style suit white suit. The clothing style shows the fusion of sports and modern style on the basis of solemnity, and takes into account gender, age and height. The inclusive design enables every sports mobilization to show the Olympic spirit.

The art printed down jacket is a re interpretation of the painting of thousands of miles of rivers and mountains. This classic painting not only shows the vast rivers and mountains at that time, but also symbolizes the integration and connection between man and nature and between man and the world in the same world.

Wang FengChen's team takes the traditional Chinese landscape painting elements as the background. The rhythm of the near and far, the sky blue and the glacier white in the winter shine complement each other. In the coat, we use the gradual color halo dye, and combine with the art form of line drawing technique to draw the representative Chinese historical buildings and the Olympic Games landmark buildings, outline the muscles and bones connecting the history and the modern, and express the rhythm of the country with the contemporary design language.

The interior is a Chinese style deconstruction suit. Through the symbolic deconstruction design, the designer focuses on exploring the functionality and comfort of the garment. The fabric is soft and crisp. The Chinese formal dress is supplemented by western style cutting, and the details are embellished with classic Chinese elements such as button and stand collar. The designer not only reshapes the tradition, but also has modern temperament and unique style.

After the opening ceremony, Wang FengChen also said: "for designers, I think this is a very logical development direction, and I like it very much, because the original intention of Feng Chen Wang is to combine sports with fashion. We design products that combine sports and fashion every season, and we will continue to conduct in-depth research in this field in the future."

The creative patterns are distributed in the shoulders, chest and trouser legs, and the snowflakes woven with Chinese knots are decorated on the chest, forehead and Ruyi patterns, implying the hope and blessing for the Winter Olympics. The pattern technology adopts towel embroidery with national characteristics, which is simple and natural, and is presented in 3D. It restores a happy Chinese year and makes people not only look forward to the bright future of these children.

In addition, 155 children from Beijing Philharmonic Chorus came from Beijing Philharmonic Chorus on their way to the snow in blue and white porcelain, white and blue. Ding Jie integrated the auspicious elements of "Chinese knot" into it, and the image evolved into a snowflake feast of ever-changing changes.
