In June 2023, the export growth of wool textile raw materials and products slowed down. From January to June, the export of wool textile raw materials and products totaled US $5.42 billion, up 4% year on year, and the growth rate dropped 3 percentage points compared with the first quarter.

The export volume of wool textile primary processing and main textile products showed a decline month on month. In June, the export volume of wool sliver fell 11.5% month on month, the export volume of wool yarn fell 25.6% month on month, and the export volume of wool fabric fell 18.9% month on month; The export of wool textile products showed a month on month growth. In June, the export of wool knitted clothing increased by 88.4% month on month, and the export of wool woven clothing increased by 25.6%.

From the perspective of export destination, ASEAN has jumped to become the destination with the largest export volume of wool textile raw materials and products, accounting for 17.6%, and the proportion of exports to the United States has decreased by 1.4 percentage points year-on-year.

From January to June, the import volume of wool textile raw materials and products was 1.97 billion US dollars, down 5.9% year on year.

Among them, the total import of wool was US $1.12 billion, down 2.7% year on year, and the import volume was 152000 tons, up 9.1% year on year. Wool imports from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa kept growing at 10.2%, 2.8% and 43.8% respectively.
