In the first half of 2007, 1-6 months, the import of footwear products from the 27 EU countries continued to grow, with an import value of US $8 billion 462 million, an increase of 12.42% over the same period in 2006. The number of imports of finished shoes was 1 billion 373 million pairs, and the import amount was 7 billion 652 million US dollars, up 10.45% and 19.38% respectively over the same period last year.

Finished shoes from China still occupy a large market share, with an import volume of 1 billion 8 million pairs and an import amount of US $3 billion 691 million, which accounts for 73.44% and 48.23% of the US import market respectively.

Followed by Vietnam, India, Indonesia and other countries.

The number of imports of antidumping products from EU leather products has declined compared with the same period, with an import volume of US $263 million, a decrease of 7.76% compared with the same period last year, with an import value of US $3 billion 535 million, an increase of 1.68% over the same period last year.

Among them, imports from China and Vietnam, which had imposed anti-dumping duties, declined. The number of imports from China was 86 million pairs, and the import amount was 943 million US dollars, down 26.37% and 21.36% respectively from the same period last year. The number of imports from Vietnam was 43 million pairs, and the import amount was 552 million US dollars, respectively, which was 23.48% and 20.11% lower than the same period last year.

Although imports from Macao were small, the increase was notable, with an import volume of 6 million 796 thousand pairs and an import amount of US $89 million 262 thousand, an increase of 283.05% and 510.65% respectively over the same period last year.
