Tariff Bar, Let The United States Suffer From "Consumer Anxiety Disorder"?

TariffSchool Opening

On the 3 th of the local day, the majority of primary and secondary school students in the United States usher in the opening season. However, many American parents are depressed. Because the US government has imposed tariffs on Chinese goods exported to the US, from textbooks to extracurricular readings, from children's clothing to children's shoes, these imported goods, which are mainly imported from China, are also necessary for children to go to school.

A number of studies have shown that consumers and businesses in the United States are ultimately responsible for tariffs imposed by the US government on goods exported to China. Many Americans feel anxious about the poor prospects of living expenses and rising operating costs.

The consumption pain of American low-income families is more obvious. Low income families spend more money on clothing and footwear than their rich families, so they are more sensitive to the US government's tariff policy. According to data from the National Committee of the US China trade, American families pay an average of more than $1000 a year on tariffs. A director of the National Federation of taxpayers in the United States recently issued a public statement that the US government's tariffs will lead to more than $more than 600 a year in taxes paid to ordinary families, including low-income families. He shouted that the US government should cancel the added tariffs.

Female consumers in the us feel "hurt". Compared with male consumers, they are more dependent on "made in China". US official figures show that over 40% of women and girls clothing and footwear products imported from the United States last year came from China.

The latest round of tariffs has just covered female sex, mother and baby and household products, from adult underwear, shoes and socks, hats to diapers, baby carriages and other baby products, and then to meat, cheese and other ingredients and curtains. For this reason, in a hearing on tariffs on Chinese goods in June this year, an underwear manufacturer appeared to hold a bra to urge us officials not to impose tariffs.

The anxiety of American business operators is also increasing. At the hearing held in June, "I would not be able to sleep at the same time." if we impose tariffs, our enterprises will go bankrupt, and so on. Local media reported that the hearing was filled with "anxiety", "frustration" and even a sense of hopelessness.

In order to resist the impact of tariff rise on profits, many American shopkeepers have to raise sales prices, resulting in a decline in sales. Many people are very frustrated with this dilemma, and feel that "time, money and energy invested have been wasted". At the same time, Taghit, WAL-MART, best buy and many other American stores have also made a stand. They are also hovering on the edge of rising prices because of continuous tariffs.

The tariff bar makes American farmers very helpless. Since the US government unilaterally launched economic and trade frictions last year, American farmers have been watching the great opportunities of the Chinese market away from themselves, but can only be forced to accept the reality. The American Alliance for free trade, which represents more than 100 trade associations, recently issued a statement saying: "For American farmers, the pain of trade war is increasing every week. "

The reality is clear: the United States' tariff rod is simply lifting up stones to smash people's feet, disrupting the daily life of ordinary Americans and suppressing the economic vitality of American society, which is causing more and more resentment in American society. Faced with the pain of the people's livelihood caused by a tariff rod, some people in the US even pretend that "American consumers do not spend any money on tariffs". Such self deceiving words are laughable. (source: Xinhua News Agency)
